There is something remarkable happening at Jazz at Kleinhans.
Of course, audiences come to hear outstanding artists and world-class performances. But increasingly, what we are witnessing is something deeper. We are seeing a community come together around music, memories, and shared experiences.
Over the past year, audiences have filled Kleinhans Music Hall to celebrate jazz and the Great American Songbook. They gathered for the annual Harold Arlen Celebration featuring the magnificent Tierney Sutton. They gathered for John Pizzarelli’s heartfelt tribute to Tony Bennett. They gathered for Emmet Cohen’s celebration of Miles Davis and John Coltrane. In each case, people came for the music, but they left with something more.

They left feeling connected.
That is the enduring power of jazz and the Great American Songbook.
These songs have a way of becoming part of our lives. They remind us of special moments, cherished relationships, and meaningful experiences. A familiar lyric can transport us back to another time. A timeless melody can evoke memories that have remained tucked away for years. And when we experience these songs together, they become a shared language that connects us across generations.
This is one of the reasons JazzBuffalo has embraced the Great American Songbook as an important part of its mission.
Buffalo has a unique connection to this music through the legacy of Harold Arlen, one of America’s greatest songwriters and the composer of classics that continue to be performed and cherished throughout the world. Celebrating the Great American Songbook is not simply about preserving the past. It is about keeping alive a living art form that continues to inspire audiences today.
Perhaps more importantly, it is about creating opportunities for people to gather.
At a time when meaningful connections can sometimes feel difficult to find, live music offers something increasingly valuable. It brings people together in the same room, listening, reflecting, and sharing an experience that cannot be replicated elsewhere.
That is what we have seen at Jazz at Kleinhans.
It is not simply a concert program. It is a growing community of people who value great music, meaningful lyrics, artistic excellence, and the opportunity to experience it all together.
That journey continues with the upcoming Jazz at Kleinhans season.

Audiences will have the opportunity to experience Grammy-winning vocalist and pianist Nicole Zuraitis, the extraordinary artistry of Champian Fulton, Carmen Bradford, and Vanessa Perea in our holiday celebration, the annual Harold Arlen Celebration featuring Tony Award Nominee Ann Hampton Callaway, and the dynamic Latin jazz artistry of Alfredo Rodriguez.
Each concert offers something unique. Together, they tell a larger story about the music that continues to shape our lives and connect us to one another.
The Jazz at Kleinhans 4-Concert Package remains available through July 13 at the special subscription rate of $178—less than $45 per concert.
More than a package, it is an invitation.
An invitation to become part of a growing community. An invitation to celebrate jazz and the Great American Songbook. An invitation to share in the memories, stories, and experiences that make live music so meaningful.
The music brings us together.
The songs keep us connected.
And we hope you will join us.

***We urge EVERYONE to support this series***
Mr. & Mrs. Zambito have created an opportunity for us to come together and be uplifted with the spirit of jazz and community.
These are “EVENTS,” ladies and gentlemen, not “gigs.” These musicians not only perform with their souls but are able to conjure The Muse
with their Shamanic talents: We have felt cleansed and renewed each and every time!!!
Whether our experience is sheer joy or opportunity for deep introspection, we leave with a sense of shared humanity that transcends time …
Thank you for this wonderful comment…uplifting is what we aim for and the artists do as well! This level of support is immensely appreciated!
