One of the things we want the Buffalo Jazz Festival to reflect is the breadth of musical creativity found right here in our own community.
That’s one reason we’re excited to welcome Vibrant Strings to the 5th Annual Buffalo Jazz Festival.
With a sound that blends the warmth and beauty of strings with jazz and contemporary influences, Vibrant Strings offers something different from what you might expect to hear at a jazz festival. Their imaginative arrangements create a sound that can be elegant one moment and wonderfully rhythmic the next.
And that’s part of the point.
Jazz has never stood still. It has always been shaped by musicians bringing different instruments, influences, and ideas into the music. A great jazz festival should reflect some of that variety.
Celebrating What’s Being Created Here
As we continue working to build a Buffalo Jazz Festival worthy of the city’s name, bringing nationally and internationally recognized artists to Buffalo is only part of the aspiration.
We also want to provide a stage for the distinctive artistry being created here.
Vibrant Strings represents that spirit—Buffalo talent bringing their own musical voice to an afternoon that will move through different sounds, styles, and traditions of jazz.
This Sunday, come early, bring a chair, use a chair, meet some friends, and settle in for an afternoon of music on Ellicott Street.
