2021 NYC WINTER JAZZFEST

Wednesday, January 13, 2021 @ 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

By host @___niama___ Tomorrow at 7 p.m. ET, #FertileGrounds my conversation series with @nycwjf is BACK! I’m so thrilled to have two remarkable artists, singer-songwriter @cecilyalexa & multidisciplinary artist @tsedaye, joining us! Individually and in their frequent collaborations, they are often working to center the spiritual and material lives of Black women. It’s going to be a FABULOUS conversation. RSVP at bit.ly/wjfcecilyandtsedaye Created and developed the series for NYC Winter Jazzfest’s 2021 digital season, Fertile Grounds brings together visionary artists across discipline - jazz musicians and multidisciplinary artists - to discuss their inspirations, and pursuits through their creative practice. It is a celebration and an acknowledgement of the expansive spirit of creativity which feeds, moves and inspires us all.

FERTILE GROUNDS

Featuring Cecily Bumbray, Tsedaye Makonnen

Fertile Grounds brings together visionary artists – jazz musicians and multidisciplinary artists – across disciplines to discuss their inspirations, and pursuits through their creative practice. While Jazz is at the heart of WJF’s work, the imagination, introspection and ingenuity of the artists we present is not only found in this genre, or even just in the work of musicians. Fertile Grounds is a celebration and an acknowledgement of the expansive spirit of creativity which feeds, moves and inspires us.
