5th Annual Buffalo Jazz Festival: Marcus Goldhaber

Marcus Goldhaber Returns Home to Perform at the 5th Annual Buffalo Jazz Festival

One of the special moments of this year’s 5th Annual Buffalo Jazz Festival will be welcoming Buffalo native Marcus Goldhaber back home to perform.

Now based in New York City, Marcus has become one of today’s most compelling jazz vocalists and songwriters, earning national acclaim for his fresh and heartfelt interpretations of the Great American Songbook while also creating original music that feels destined to become part of that tradition.

The JW Vibe recently described Marcus as “one of his generation’s foremost purveyors of the Great American Songbook,” while JazzTimes praised his performances as “wonderfully imaginative.” His latest album, The Promise of You, has been celebrated as another milestone in a career that continues to grow with each new recording.

What makes Marcus especially captivating is his ability to connect with an audience. Whether he’s interpreting a timeless standard or performing one of his own songs, every lyric is delivered with warmth, sincerity, and an unmistakable love for the music. His performances invite audiences into the story behind every song, creating an experience that is both intimate and memorable.

Having appeared at legendary venues including Carnegie Hall, Birdland, Blue Note, Mezzrow, and 54 Below, Marcus has earned a reputation as one of the leading voices of his generation. Yet there is something especially meaningful about welcoming him back to Buffalo, where his musical journey first began.

We’re honored to have Marcus return home as part of this milestone Buffalo Jazz Festival and know that audiences will experience an artist who represents both the enduring beauty of the Great American Songbook and its exciting future.

Join us on Sunday, September 6, as Marcus Goldhaber takes the Main Stage at the 5th Annual Buffalo Jazz Festival in downtown Buffalo.
