“A Night of O’Day” with Vanessa Vacanti

Featuring classic jazz tunes from the eras of big band and bebop, we raise a glass to the “Jezebel of Jazz”, who was a trailblazing performer for women singers in jazz. Vanessa Vacanti and her trio will bring the swing with their improvisation and dynamic stylings that will honor the artistry of O’Day, whose influential sound is cemented in history.

Vanessa Vacanti is the fresh new voice in Buffalo jazz, sweeping the city with her creative tributes and her SAMMY award nominated debut album. Recently voted “Rising Star Jazz Artist of the Year” by the 2024 Annual JazzBuffalo polls, Vanessa has performed around the state of New York at festivals such as the Syracuse Jazz Festival, the Geneva Jazz Festival, the Lake Ontario Food, Wine, and Jazz Festival, and more. Thanks to her studies under the wings of Jazz greats such as Nancy Kelly and Kim Nazarian of the New York Voices, Vanessa knows how to lead her audience on a musical journey.

Joining Vanessa Vacanti for this performance will be three of the most outstanding jazz musicians in Buffalo:

George Caldwell on piano

Paul La Duca on the bass

John Bacon Jr. on the drums.

Don’t miss this soulful tribute to one of the jazz greats!
