Adrian Ruiz Quintet – Live Stream

Dr. Adrian Ruiz, a native of San Antonio, is an in-demand freelance trumpeter and passionate educator who performs extensively throughout the state of Texas. Ruiz has performed with a long list of legendary artists, recorded and arranged in horn sections on numerous albums, and has performed internationally at the Montreux, North Sea, and Taichung jazz festivals. In addition to his demanding performance schedule, Ruiz is an avid educator, presenting transformative clinics and masterclasses at many schools, colleges, and universities.

Ruiz received his Bachelor of Music Studies from UT San Antonio, Master of Music in Composition from Texas State University, and Doctor of Musical Arts in Jazz Trumpet Performance from UT Austin. Ruiz currently serves as the Director of Jazz Bands at St. Stephen’s Episcopal School in Austin, and was formerly the Director of Jazz Studies at UT San Antonio.

In May 2017, Ruiz made his recording debut as a leader, releasing his first full-length album, Premiere: A Collection Of Originals, and is currently setting the stage for a live follow-up album. Ruiz is a Featured Artist for Schilke Music Products Inc.
