“An Evening of Jazz for the Afghan Refugees”

Freewill donation
On Friday, March 11 from 7:00-9:30 the Network of Religious Communities, WNY’s most inclusive interfaith group, the Hindu Cultural Society and Journey’s End Refugee Services will sponsor “An Evening of Jazz for the Afghan Refugees.” The cost is a freewill donation. All money collected will be donated to Journey’s End. Refreshments, water, coffee, tea, soft drinks, may be purchased at a nominal cost.
The inFront Trio will be providing the music.
The inFront Jazz Trio does contemporary arrangements of jazz standards, mingling influences from the world of Latin jazz, blues and funk, along with the Great American Jazz Songbook.
Bob White, keyboards and vocals, has appeared throughout WNY including performances at the Lewiston Jazz Festival and regular performances as part of the Albright-Knox First Fridays. He teaches piano and music theory.
Walt Sopicki, guitar, is a former student of Frank Gerard. Walt has appeared at the Lewiston Jazz Festival. His trio has opened for Steely Dan. He has recorded with Joey DeFrancesco and Bobby Jones. Walt teaches jazz guitar and music Theory.
David “The Waz” Wazik, drums and percussion, is very versatile. He has performed many genres throughout the world. He is currently a music teacher at Nardin Academy and a literacy activist for the Buffalo Public Schools.
