Ann Mitchell Jazz Trio at “Jazz in the Pan Am Room” at The Terrace at Delaware Park
Friday, November 5, 2021 @ 6:30 pm - 10:00 pm$10
JazzBuffalo, in partnership with The Terrace at Delaware Park, is pleased to present to you “Jazz in the Pan Am Room” – a fall/winter program of jazz music. A unique dinner jazz experience that now includes a stage and a baby grand piano. An evening out to partake in the award-winning foods/beverage menu of the Terrace and the high-quality enjoyable jazz provided by JazzBuffalo.
To help us kick off this new program, our first “Jazz in the Pan Am Room” will feature the special guest artist, Ann Mitchell, who has earned accolades as one of the finest jazz vocalists in the Central Region of New York State and beyond.
Ann Mitchell specializes in the rich vocals of the timeless classics with unbeatable energy and heart. Her extensive list of appearances have included: Jazz 90.1 LIVE On Air Concerts, KeyBank Rochester Fringe Festival, Corning Wine and Jazz Festival, The New York State Fair, Rochester Strong Museum’s Making American Music series, Canandaigua Waterfront festival, Fox Rochester’s Good Day Rochester, News 10 NBC – Today Show, Rochester’s Warm 101 FM – Tony and Dee in the Morning as well as numerous festivals, concerts and more.
Notably, Ann Mitchell has garnered praise for her cultivated tribute shows that include tributes to Peggy Lee, Judy Garland, and “Fabulous Females” such as Patti Page and Doris Day. Most recently, Mitchell performed a highly regarded tribute show – The Songs of Burt Bacharach – at the Rochester Fringe Festival.
Born and raised in Upstate New York, Mitchell began singing as a freelance vocalist at the age of 16, studying voice under Rita Lowe and earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre from SUNY Brockport. After a successful run in a series of musical stage performances, Ann found her niche in jazz performance as the vocalist for the former, Brass Menagerie Big Band and Bob Ames & Co.
Ann’s creative passion has been influenced by the many memorable women vocalists such as Peggy Lee, Ella Fitzgerald, June Christy, Diane Schur, Rosemary Clooney, Patti Page, Judy Garland, Doris Day, and more. On any occasion, Ms. Mitchell continues to pass on that legacy that has been left by these amazing women through her performances.
The Ann Mitchell Jazz Trio will perform 2 sets from 7 pm to 9:30 pm. Joining her will be notable musicians with Eastman School of Music backgrounds, John Gabriele on piano and Kyle Vock on bass.
Join us as we welcome this special guest artist to Buffalo in what will surely be a memorable “Jazz in the Pan AM Room” experience.
