Bob White and Stu Weissman

WNY has a myriad of gifted women vocalists who deliver sold out Pausa performances. We hear little from the other side.

Bob is a superb vocal accompanist on keyboard. A former bassist, he has crafted the sound, harmonic, and rhythmic jazz bass concepts into his Yamaha keyboard accompaniments, supporting not only his own unique

vocal stylings but who is sought after by many area singers for their performances. He leads his own “In Front Duo” and is a key member of “The Wazmopolitans”. Bob sings many of the lesser performed but story telling compositions such as “I’m Old Fashioned” along with classics like “My Romance” and n”Do Nothin’ Till You Hear From Me”.

2024 Jazz Buffalo Jazz Guitar Poll winner Stu Weissman has been a regular at Pausa for the last seven years as both sideman and leader and has fulfilled those roles locally for many year prior. However, it was only in 2023 that he made his vocal debut here at Pausa and has been embracing his new instrument with a fervor. Georgie Fame’s arrangement of “On A Misty Night” and Nat King Cole covers will be part of Stu’s list tonight. Contrasting and complementing the Great American Songbook vocals will be instrumentals from artists like Freddie Hubbard, Grant Green, Wes Montgomery…and more…

Nelson Rivera will be featured as well with his many talents on saxes and percussion. We would need another web site to list the numerous associations this luminary has to his credit. Musical diversity, a bit of mirth, and audience interest is a goal in each of Mr. W’s presentations and this evening is no exception.
