Helen Sung: Live From Home presented by Park Avenue Pianos

Winner of the Kennedy Center’s Mary Lou Williams Jazz Piano Competition and inaugural jazz artist-in-residence at Columbia University’s Zuckerman Institute, Houston-born pianist/composer Helen Sung pursued classical studies before graduating from the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz Performance. Now based in New York City, she maintains a schedule of performing, touring, and recording (her latest release “Sung With Words” is a collaboration with acclaimed poet Dana Gioia), and in addition to her own band, has performed with such luminaries as Clark Terry, Ron Carter, Wayne Shorter, Regina Carter, Terri Lyne Carrington, and fine ensembles including the Mingus Big Band and Cecile McLorin Salvant’s Ogresse. Helen was named a Steinway Artist in April 2020.
