Jon Lehning Presents: The Music of Roy Hargrove

In this captivating event, Jon Lehning takes the stage to pay homage to the extraordinary works of the late Roy Hargrove, a legendary figure in the world of jazz. Hargrove, celebrated for his innovative approach to music, seamlessly blended traditional jazz with elements of funk, soul, and hip-hop, creating a unique sound that resonated with audiences worldwide. This presentation not only showcases Hargrove’s remarkable compositions but also delves into the intricacies of his musical style, highlighting his virtuosic trumpet playing and his ability to inspire fellow musicians.

The group will be including selections from across his significant discography as a leader of many groups as well as his work as a sideman. Included are songs from Family, The Vibe, Earfood, Grand-Terre as well as The RH Factor’s Distractions & Strength and D’Angelo’s Voodoo.
