“Get The Cats Working Again” – The SmallsLIVE Foundation will present bands performing live from Smalls Jazz Club. All shows will be streamed live on our site and Facebook and archived as usual. It is FREE to watch, simply register on our website (www.smallslive).
We will be following strict safety decorum – the club will not be open to the public, there will only be the musicians, a manager, and a sound person (the club has a capacity for 75). The musicians will be paid for by sponsorship.
On the corners of West 10th Street and Seventh Ave, in the heart of Greenwich Village, are Smalls and Mezzrow Jazz Club. We are dedicated to Jazz music, Jazz musicians, and Jazz culture. Smalls Jazz Club was founded in 1994 and has been a perennial hangout for “the cats” 7 days a week, 7 til 4 am every night. Mezzrow, on the other hand, is a more austere listening salon focusing on Jazz piano. In September of 2007, Spike Wilner, the owner of smalls decided to record and document every performance at Smalls.
