Modern Interpretations of Art Blakely

Two groups that undeniably grew out of Blakey’s tradition and took the music forward in its progression are One For All and Derrick Gardner & The Jazz Prophets. The musicians will showcase an evening of the music of those two groups to show where the Blakey sound came from and how it has evolved.

The group will be performing music from the albums of One For All; Too Soon To Tell, Optimism, The Lineup and The Third Decade, as well as The Jazz Prophets’ A Ride To The Other Side and Slim Goodie.
