Paul Todaro and The Standards

Paul Todaro – Vocals/Upright Bass
Tim Clark – Trumpet
Stu Weissman – Guitar
Avery Weissman – Guitar
Nelson Rivera – Drums
For the last twenty years Paul Todaro has led, sung and played bass for “The Skiffle Minstrels” – a highly popular local Western Swing dance band. More recently he was the lead vocalist and bassist for Stu Weissman’s “Swing St.” which performed various
big band and vocal compositions. Paul is the bassist for Maria Sebastian’s “The Landlines,” and sings and plays bass in the Hawaiian group “The Oatka Trio.” Paul spent many years in New York and Buffalo as an actor, with singing roles in the works
Rogers and Hammerstein, Lerner and Lowe, and Sondheim. Paul has reached out to local veterans trumpeter Tim Clarke and guitarist Stu Weissman who brought Nelson Rivera (drums/tenor) and Avery Weissman (guitar) to assemble an ensemble with a focus on presenting those compositions from the Great American Songbook that have become vocal and instrumental jazz standards.
Tim Clark is a well known area trumpeter and composer who is often heard with the Skiffle Minstrels as well as being featured in many Pausa projects. Avery and Stu have been collaborating for two decades and have worked with Nelson
extensively over the last 8 years at Pausa and other venues. Paul Todaro and the Standards present a new combination of players with proven track records and promise an evening of fun, showmanship, and artistry.
