Remembering Lee Konitz by Earshot Jazz Live at The Forum
Saturday, May 2, 2020 @ 10:30 pm - 11:30 pm

Town Hall continues our partnership with Earshot Jazz, presenting powerhouse jazz musicians in one-night-only livestreams.
Tune in as four powerhouse jazz performers come together to affirm the legacy of the peerless alto saxophonist, Lee Konitz, who passed away on April 15 from the Coronavirus. Konitz was known for his distinctive style on the alto saxophone and is renowned, among other things, for his work performing and composing with Miles Davis.
Brent Jensen, who studied alto saxophone under Konitz’ tutelage, takes the stage to deliver his own unique expression of the instrument. Joining Jensen on bass is Chris Symer, whose open-minded approach and appreciation of many styles of music have honed his ability to fit into almost any musical situation. They’re accompanied by pianist Marina Albero who brings Spanish inflections and a talent for improvisation to her stunning jazz piano technique. Drummer Stefan Schatz underscores the ensemble, with a versatility and award-winning skill born from numerous performances at great jazz clubs throughout New York City and across the world. Come together in remembrance of the iconic saxophonist Lee Konitz, and honor his memory with music.
Presented by Earshot Jazz and Town Hall Seattle.
