JazzBoline: Thursday Night Jazz

Thursday Night Jazz at JazzBoline, hosted by JazzBuffalo, will feature various jazz performances and residencies by duos and trios!

Currently through December:

The Savoy Trio will feature Tim Clarke on trumpet and cornet, Nick Weiser on keyboards, and Paul Zapalowski on bass.  Playing a blend of elegant traditional jazz, New Orleans style, 1920’s jazz, and Great American songbook jazz standards.

Tim Clarke is one of the area’s top jazz trumpeters and has consistently been voted favorite jazz trumpeter in the annual JazzBuffalo Poll.  Nick leads the Fredonia School of Music Jazz Studies program and is one of the region’s finest pianists.  Paul Zapalowski has been one of the area’s most prolific bassists and a long-tenured professor at Buffalo State.

The trio will participate in a residency on Thursdays this fall at the new JazzBoline Restaurant & Bar in partnership with JazzBuffalo.  The JazzBoline theme is based on the invention of an instrument the inventor and luthier Frank Reikert, called a JazzBoline, that was a cross between a banjo, guitar, and violin.  The JazzBoline is next to the new boutique hotel called the Reikert House.
