Spontaneous Combustion: Art Meets Jazz
During the month of October, Expo68 will present an exhibition exploring art that is inspired by the spirit of jazz. Weekly live jazz performances, presented by JazzBuffalo, will take place during the Spontaneous Combustion exhibition.
The exhibition will feature artworks by Tim Brooks, John Baker, Tom Coyne, Betty Pitts Foster, Enid Edelman, Cashis Green, CherisseLippss, Robin Mols, Shantelle Patton, William Rios, and Gerald Seals. Artists who have participated in the Albright-Knox Art Gallery sponsored Freedom Wall, public murals, the Dopeness Project, and artist residencies at the Burchfield Penney Art Center. covering a range of social and economic community issues.
During the month of October, JazzBuffalo will present the following schedule of jazz surrounded by the Spontaneous Combustion artworks:
Saturday, October 6: Exhibition Opening with The Lance Tanner Duo
Thursday, October 11: International Jazz Guitarist Greg Millar and Friends
Thursday, October 18: Hard Bop and Soul Jazz -The Tim Clarke Soul-Tet
Thursday, October 25: Buffalo’s Premier Gypsy Jazz Group – The Hot Club of Buffalo
Tim Brooks, the founder of Expo68, is ahead of the curve! Expo68 is currently located in the Eastern Hills Mall whereby the mall will soon undergo a transformation into a progressive and innovative town center. Expo68 is one of the first forerunners of new tenants for the future town center.
