💚 Contralto Suzanne Fatta possesses a deep, burnished voice with a huge range; she covers the best male jazz singers like Frank Sinatra, Johnny Hartman and Chet Baker in their original keys. She also covers Peggy Lee, Julie London and other snarky broads.
Suzanne sings jazz in English, French, Portuguese, Italian and Spanish, having studied South American jazz in Chile. She is a highly trained opera singer from Oberlin and Eastman, and has performed with the top classical and opera ensembles in WNY. Living in England for five years, Ms. Fatta sang opera, contemporary music, jazz and early music in many cities across Europe.
Here in Buffalo, Suzanne performs jazz & pop at the Saturn Club, The Colored Musicians Club, Daily Planet Cafe, and of course the Bittersweet.
Suzanne was a Harvard University Music Teaching Fellow for the course “Jazz and Music of the Swing Era,” for which she won a teaching award of excellence. Ms. Fatta has been nominated three times for Best Female Jazz Vocalist in the JazzBuffalo reader’s poll, and is well known for singing jazz at weddings, parties, and even Opera recitals.
Her jazz and pop demo CD “Brucia La Terra” is currently available for sale on all streaming platforms. This spring, she’s going back into the studio to produce a full length EP of all original songs in pop, rock, jazz, synthPop and the blues!
