Come celebrate International Jazz Day with the TD Niagara Jazz Festival!
In November 2011 the UNESCO General Conference proclaimed 30 April as “International Jazz Day”. This International Day brings together communities, schools, artists, historians, academics, and jazz enthusiasts all over the world to celebrate and learn about the art of jazz, its roots, its future and its impact.
We will be Celebrating the Jazz Greats!
We’ve opened the borders for this live-streamed show and will be featuring guitarist James Bryan (Canada), Bass / Vocal duo Chris Northington and DeeAnn (US), and jazz pianist Abel Marcel (Cuba/Holland), bringing you compositions from their favorite jazz influences as well as some original compositions. Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Jelly Roll Morton and more…
Join us on April 30th at 7 pm for a FREE event to celebrate the occasion, featuring both local and international jazz musicians!
This show is ONLINE on our FACEBOOK and YOUTUBE channels.

While performing a benefit for Camp Good Days, when asked about his favorite kind of music to play his response was simply “good.” For over 30 years C-Note has been doing just that, playing good music for anyone who needed a bass player. What started with the vibrant Sunday night Jam sessions in the 80’s continues today through a diverse career that has taken many twists and turns that includes many club dates and a headline performance at the Rochester International Jazz Festival. Today Chris steps out to support his good friend DeeAnn as she continues her ascension as one of Buffalo’s premier vocalists.
Abel Marcel is one of the most versatile Cuban piano players from his generation on the scene today: composer, arranger, producer, pianist, bandleader and educator. He has been recording dozens of albums from hip-hop to salsa, from jazz to classical. He is first and foremost an improviser. His classical background in addition to his musical heritage creates a musical dichotomy. The two sides of improviser and formalist play off each other, and the effect is often something like controlled chaos. On stage, Abel Marcel is a charismatic figure, inspiring his fellow musicians with his dynamic playing and improvisational approach to the music – an approach full of raw emotional power and humor.
