*****About the band*****
Paul Cosentino’s Boilermaker Jazz Band interprets the Great American song book in their own fashion, bringing the sounds of the jazz age and swing era back to life. You’ll hear familiar classics and rarities performed by superb instrumentalists and heartfelt vocalists- all done in their inimitable style and ALWAYS danceable. From catchy riffs to swinging love songs and rambunctious jump blues, the Boilermaker Jazz Band always delivers an energetic and unique improvisational performance that is adaptable to any form of swing dancing- from lindy hop, to balboa, to shag and blues.
The Band has performed at major Swing Dancing events worldwide including the International Lindy Hop Championships, Midsummer Night’s Swing at Lincoln Center in NYC, Frankie 95, Lindy Focus, DCLX, Pitt Stop Lindy Hop, All Balboa Weekend, Summer Dance in Chicago, Boston Tea Party, Catalina Island Swing Festival in California, New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, and even the Jeju Island Swing Camp in Korea… and MANY more!
Leading the Boilermaker Jazz Band on clarinet, saxophone, and vocals is Paul Cosentino, a full-time bandleader/performer who founded the band in 1988 at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. Paul and the Boilermakers have recorded fourteen critically acclaimed CD’s and have received rave reviews for their excellent live performances.
