The Ed Croft Trio at Jazz at Chandlerville

We are kicking off Jazz at Chandlerville hosted by JazzBuffalo on Thursday, July 2 at 6:00 pm with the Ed Croft Trio!  Ed Croft has evolved into one of the area’s most sought-after bass players and jazz artists.

Ed Croft (Bass): Winner of 2017, 2018, and 2019 JazzBuffalo Poll for Favorite Acoustic Upright Bassist, 2018 Rising Star, and the 2018 John Hunt Jazz Artist of the Year awards. He started his music career playing in NYC before he got his Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from SUNY Fredonia in 2013.  During the pandemic, Ed has been a regular presence with his weekly live streams.

Nelson Rivera (Saxophone): Buffalo born and bred with self-proclaimed “blue cheese” running through his veins, Rivera plays in several groups in the area, including the highly acclaimed Tim Clarke’s Soul-tet, and is the most recent member of the trio. He graduated from Clarence High School before playing alongside local greats at UB like Dave Schiavone.  He has become one of the area’s most prominent sax players with his unique sound.

Joe Goretti (Drums): He studied with Buffalo legend Louis Marino (who played with Billie Holiday, Kai Winding, James Moody, Sunny Stitt, Carmen Mc’Rae, Dina Washington, Della Reese, Lou Rawls, Lou Donaldson, Woody Shaw and Charley Byrd).  Goretti graduated from the Berklee College of Music and went on to play internationally with artists like Moby and the Temptations.
