The Jay/Sharptet: Plays the Music of Chet Baker

The Jay/Sharptet enjoys performing music with a focus on original compositions and arrangements. Inspired by ensembles such as the great Miles Davis Quintets they strive to approach every tune with a unique interpretation. Past performances include the Northwest Jazz Festival, the Queen City Jazz Festival, the CMC Jazz Festival, Babeville’s 9th Ward, and Pausa Art House.Join the Jay/Sharptet as we perform music from the career of trumpet player and singer Chet Baker.
For this performance we will be focusing on music from albums such as “Chet Baker Sings”, “She Was Too Good For Me” and “My Funny Valentine”. Throughout his career Chet Baker was well known for singing love songs such as “My Funny Valentine”, “I Fall in Love Too Easily”, and “There Will Never Be Another You.”
