The Music of JJ Johnson and Kai Winding featuring trombonists Phil Sims and John Hasselback Jr.

In the 1950’s and 60’s, a two trombone jazz group became a musical and commercial success, traveling the globe performing great jazz arrangements of standards from the American Songbook, jazz originals, and even pop songs of the day. JJ and Kai were the two pre-eminent jazz trombonists of their day, and WNY’s own Phil Sims and John Hassleback Jr. bring many of those great arrangements to the stage. Accompanied by Lisa Hasselback on piano, Paul Zapalowski on bass, and Tom Kasperek on drums at the Roycroft Inn.
