The Ladies First Jazz Big Band, created by award winning bassist Jennifer May, is a 16 piece all-female jazz ensemble. Featuring saxophone, clarinet, flute, trumpet, flugelhorn, keyboards, bass and drums, this group delivers a rich, lively sound, the way this music was meant to be played and heard. Vocal trio, The Buffalo Dolls, voted ‘Best Vocal Jazz Pop Group’, elevate classic Jazz songs to musical perfection with a luxurious harmony reminiscent of the Andrews Sisters. Ladies First Jazz Big Band together with The Buffalo Dolls was recently awarded the ‘Most Memorable Jazz Performance of 2019’ in the annual Jazz Buffalo Poll. The Big Band & Combo have previously won the ‘Best Jazz Big Band,’ ‘Best Jazz Large Ensemble’ and ‘Best Small Jazz Group’ respectively, by the Buffalo Music Awards.
